Puasa

Salam Ramadhan semua! Ramadhan Mubarak! When the Muslim brothers in Gippsland wished me that last time - Ramadhan Mubarak, I was really at lost because it was my first Ramadhan away from the country and with non-Malaysians. But I gotta say I adapted to that and all was good. A blog post with no good introduction. I don't know about you guys but I find doing the introduction part a hassle. I remember how much I dreaded doing those introduction parts for every literature review, paper I had to do for assignments back then. But, like my teachers in primary school said, a good intro is like a good first impression. Once you nail that, you gotta follow up with a good story as well. Too bad I am not doing any of that here, right now. Been saving a lot of drafts. Same problem that sneaked upon me whenever I feel like blogging always. The writer's block. Even an amateur blogger, a professional writer wanna-be like me has this kind of problem. Hah! Anyway, once I am in a more stea...

Gambarku Diphotoshop!!!

So, after being urged and talked to by my mom to buy food from the bazaar in Putrajaya so that I don't have to cook this month, I made the first step, the first to many more perhaps..to go to the bazaar Ramadhan near my place. Just right next to the Sungai Besi Expressway. Of course there are only 10-20 stalls or so. But it is good enough for someone like me who doesn't really like spending time outside, choosing and deciding what to buy. I'm indecisive alright. So, I headed straight to the bazaar after I got my passport photos taken. And I think I'm used to seeing all the rubbish, litter on the road like the one in this picture now... So, to get to my place, if you're on Sg.Besi Expressway heading to UPM or Putrajaya from KL and you spot this Minlon building, make a  left turn. =P  Before I bought some keria, bandung cincau and ayam percik for tomorrow's sahur, I went to get my passport photos taken. To get my passport renewed some time this year. Anyw...

Bruno Mar's Lazy Song Got Banned!

Alhamdulillah, first day of fasting. I have always wondered how can one break fast with just dates and water. But I finally got it just now that it is not something impossible. All this while I have been eating as if there's no tomorrow when Ramadhan is supposed to be the time I learn some self control, not only when it comes to eating but other aspects in life as well. Like sleeping, buying things, and the urge to laze around. So Bruno Mar's Lazy Song shall be banned this month! =P And what's with the keywords that got people to my blog? So weird man.. Bila masa pulak aku ada blog pasal potrait Hang Tuah dan sugoi big fish..SUGOIIII!!!! hehehehehe

Happy Birthday ABAH!

Happy Birthday Abah!! this was 2 years ago. So, for this year anything special? Well, not that it is special but I got something for my dad hohohoho =P Oh, and selamat beribadah sebentar lagi hehehehe

Welcome, Welcome!

Ramadhan nak sampai dah~ bersedia, please? Time2 camni teringat keluarga Churchill terpencil. Rindu pulak.. hehehehe

The Journey To Penang - Food Paradise LOL

Left Kerteh around 7 am, really early. I did update the blog via mobile twice. And thank God it didn't cost too much of my credit, around RM2 for 2 emails sent to my email address. I find it really convenient updating my blog via email instead of using GPRS on my phone and update it on blogger. If only my handphone's keypad is the QWERTY type hehehe. Anyway, I think I will let the pictures do the talking. That's the very least a blogger like me can do when I'm too laz-I mean busy. ~lalalala~ The first photo I snapped, in Kemasik. Waiting for the cousin to come to pick up the Kek Lapis she ordered from my mom. I asked in one entry yesterday where was this picture (the right) taken? Should be somewhere to/in Ipoh. LOL Those who answered it got it right. I guess it's a common sight, landmark for those who travel frequently on the PLUS highway. Thought of using this picture and asked where was this picture taken. Changed my plan. Heh After we reached rumah Tok and perfo...

Perut Busung

Okay, not really busung, more like there's a balloon stuck in my body and has been filled with air at a point it's about to burst. Then again, I might be exaggerating. But I still felt abit full when I woke up for sahur just now. And the fact that I didn't eat any less (siap tambah lagi) has made me feel so bloated and full...I should have a better control of myself - guilty. Screw this song that keeps playing in my head!! hehehehe

Ramadhan Buffet

Ah, so we went to the buffet, a last minute decision it was. At first when Abah called the hotel, they said it was fully booked. Hafiz seemed a bit disappointed hehehe. Then Abah called home few minutes after his first call. Someone just cancelled their bookings! Lucky brat. =P You can call me jakun, kampung boy, but that was the first time I saw that many foods this Ramadhan. All foods laid out in front of me. Totally different than the buffet the hotel has when it's not Ramadhan. Though I'm pretty sure things are much grandiose in place like Putrajaya, Sunway, those big cities. Quite efficient, on such a short notice they could prepare this. Then again, how hard could it be typing three words on that piece of paper and printing it. The canopy sheltering those food stalls and buffet. It was indeed packed. Mostly with Petronas staffs. The boy was excited! Seems like the big boys were excited too. =P There were so many stalls and this was just one of those stalls. You see, I was...

Rewards

The little brother Hafiz is fasting today. This will be his third time fasting this month. We've been encouraging him to join us fasting and I must say he is doing much better than I was last time. I blogged about how I got his mind off his hunger when he fasted the second time by getting him to do some paintings. Now you can see his artworks. LOL ~Jeng jeng jeng~ I guess most kids want to be pilots. Been there. Heehe The drawing at the left is "orang tidur berdiri"? and the right one is our work. That's why a bit better. A bit only since I'm quite a failure when it comes to drawing, colouring. =___= This afternoon, I thought why not buy him a slice of Secret Recipe's Chocolate Indulgence Cake to reward him. So, we went to the mall, headed down to Secret Recipe. Ended up buying a lot of stuffs for him LOL a soccer ball, plastic shuttlecocks, and Big Apple donuts. Sheeesh.. We are spoiling him alright. Later after we got back, he asked my mom "Jom makan m...

Resipi Berbuka Puasa - Apple Crumble (Yum Yum Yum)

I don't know about your side, but here in Kerteh, it's pretty hot. It's not that bright, pretty cloudy, but still hot. Maybe I'm still adapting to the weather here (ayat poyo! UWEEEKKK!) =P This kind of weather, how I wish I could have a bite on Apple Crumble. When I was in Gippsland I enjoyed having those apple cakes, apple pies served in those iftars with the other Muslims who are from India and Pakistan mostly. Sometimes my housemate, would make apple cake, and would top the cake with cream. Nice! But early this year, my housemate no longer there as he has graduated and I got this cravings for apple cake, apple pie and apple crumble. But I got to say, apple crumble is my favourite. It's easy to make, and doesn't take a lot of your time. Plus, no egg used for those of you who don't like egg. hehehe So, I thought, why not share this recipe. Who knows, you want to try something different for today's break fast. hehehe Apple Crumble Yo...

Oh, What Happened Yesterday?

Yesterday eh? Almost the same thing everyday, but not bored. I always got things to do. Hahaha. Anyway, congratulations to my lil' bro Zulhafiz for being able to go through his second day of fasting yesterday! He was..err, you can say suffering on his first day, and didn't want to fast the next few days after that. But, he braced himself through the hot day and for that, kudos kiddo! =P I managed to get him do this - paintings. Hey, who knows he might have a gift in this. Abah has a talent in drawing too bad his kids don't take that after him. Later that evening, an hour before break fast I went outside the house to...do something I don't remember what was it. Anyway, when I stepped outside the door, I found this! And I managed to take a pic of it first hahah =P Someone came in and left this at our doorstep. What could it be? Looking closer, it is a box courtesy of Terengganu MB, Ahmad Said (or affectionately called by the locals, Mat Said). And I guess it right that it...

Music Video of The Week

Introducing Lord of Ramadhan by CoTu. From what I found on the net which is not much really, it's a group made up of musicians from Turkey and Germany. What makes the song so enjoyable is the rapping part and the soothing voice of the singers. It is not fully sung in English, a bit in Turkish, German and Arabic, according to this site . My first time watching this I was like, WOW!! The music is soothing, nice and of course, so full of joy. Who wouldn't, when Ramadhan is here! =) Thanks to Kak Minci for this MV. Though I'm not sure if she still blogs. It's been ages since I went to her blog. I hope she's doing fine =) Enjoy the MV, and don't forget to make full use of this Ramadhan, fellow Muslims. hehehehe

~lalalala~

Wow~5 days eh, with no post at all. I have to admit I feel a bit a lazy and run out of things to talk about here. Should I keep posting about Keanu Reeves and Azita Osman, since these two 'keywords' have brought a lot of unique readers from as far as Brazil LOL. Actually I got alot of things running in my head - kes buang bayi which happens almost everyday in Malaysia now, lessons learned from Ramadhan, the shooting incident in Lygon St., Melbourne and - I can't seem to recall another one. Hahaha =P But hey, I haven't uploaded pics from my dad's birthday celebration. Maybe I will do that. 2 weeks after his birthday and only now the pics are up! Well, maybe later. Ah, I just lost it. Or you can just say I'm lazy. By the way, I feel like being narcissistic instead of updating my blog so, what do you think of this picture? Don't I look like so cool? HHAHAHAAHAHAH!! perasang doh!! Selamat Berbuka Puasa to those who are fasting today. Hahaha =P

Nak Datang DAH!!

Oh! Ramadhan is coming! Just one more day (most likely) and it's the 1st Ramadhan. Man, I don't know why, but as I grow older I'm more excited to see Ramadhan compared to Syawal. Surely, I still enjoy the delight of Hari Raya especially this year since I wasn't able to celebrate Raya in Penang for 3 straight years. Insya Allah, this year I hope to be able to observe this month of Ramadhan and use it fully. Also to celebrate Hari Raya in Penang. =) Selamat Menyambut Kedatangan Ramadhan Al Mubarak dan Selamat Berpuasa! XD hehe

I am feeling it..

Waking up early in the morning to go to Uni..man, I love the feeling. I feel like I've become more hardworking, and my days are spent productively..Got such sentence not? =P Well....it's almost at the end of Ramadhan..I hope this Ramadhan is much better than last Ramadhan.. Amin..I've put my very best, but I know it's not the best I can give.. Does that make any sense? LOL On a much serious note, I really hope, and pray I will get to see the next Ramadhan.. T_T Amin..

Ah..it's refreshing...

What is? The bandung cincau I had last night at rumah Abang Kamal. PERGHHH!!! SYIOK!!! If only got ice, then ada UMPPHHH already!! XD And I forgot to take few pics last night. So no picture at all from rumah Abang Kamal!! Anyway, we had nasi tomato, sup tulang, daging masak merah, ayam kentucky..man, it's heaven. That was after Maghrib actually. Before Maghrib we had roti jala with curry, bingka roti n home made pizza from the budak2 bujang (tastilicious!!), popia pedas tapi manis, and...kuih lapis? Yeah I think so. So far I haven't contributed anything yet..=_= sigh.. I was planning to let them try kuih kaswi, but by 5 pm still not done yet. And when I got back home last nite, still not done yet!! =_=" I guess not enough tapioca flour? Maybe... Now, 16 Ramadhan, the second half of Taqwa Cup has begun. So, I am gonna do better than the previous half, Insya Allah. Hmm no pictures..so sad... Till then..salam hehehehe..

seriously dude!

Man, I thought I will be way, way more productive this Ramadhan. Well, only a bit. You know how everyday when I wake up after Subuh, I am annoyed by my own laziness? Seriously dude!! WAKE UP!!! On the other hand, had good time break fasting with the Malays. ;) Terubat rindu. Some snapshots of the time I spent with them. Now we have Abang Syed, his wife and 2 kids - Denish and Dania. Abang Syed already got a PR here. Good stuff really. And also we have Mejar Zainal who is from RMAF. He will be working here until next year. He is also with his wife, 2 sons and 1 daughter. Mak was like "Kenapa tak bagitau mak pon orang Penang, abah dulu kerja kat airforce!" hahaha. Sooner or later they will find out about it =P Rumah Abang Akmal -22/8/2009 Will be in Salam Perantau in Utusan =P Of course not this picture, but the other one. Rumah Mejar Zainal di Sale - 23/8/2009 Rumah Abang Syed 29/8/2009 I tried making apam balik few days back. Only when I was frying the apam balik I realised ap...

the start

Praise be to God, I managed to wake up at 4 am to prepare my sahur. I couldn't sleep really, until 2.30 am. So that means I only had like 1.5 hours of sleep? Hahaha, its all good. Had a quite a long convo with my family last night. Got a lot of stuffs to catch up with; budak gemok with his 'H1N1' symptoms, Apish and his bleeding nose, Mak with the ayam organik thing. Hahaha.. my bro Adib, all the way from Sarawak texted me, wishing me all good in this month. Thanks a lot bro! ;) I had daging masak merah and my signature dish, fried cabbage. This time, with soy sauce not turmeric. Bugger..forgot to snap a pic of my sahur.. ANyway, while I was cooking I got this message from Bii, she was about to go to bed, and will wake up later around 5 am Singapore time, 7 am Melbourne time. Wish you have a good day ahead of you =) Well it's already Subuh, so I better get going to pray now. Till then, I wish all Muslims around the world, Ramadhan al Mubarak! May this Ramadhan be bette...
