I don't know about your side, but here in Kerteh, it's pretty hot. It's not that bright, pretty cloudy, but still hot. Maybe I'm still adapting to the weather here (ayat poyo! UWEEEKKK!) =P
This kind of weather, how I wish I could have a bite on Apple Crumble. When I was in Gippsland I enjoyed having those apple cakes, apple pies served in those iftars with the other Muslims who are from India and Pakistan mostly. Sometimes my housemate, would make apple cake, and would top the cake with cream. Nice!
But early this year, my housemate no longer there as he has graduated and I got this cravings for apple cake, apple pie and apple crumble. But I got to say, apple crumble is my favourite. It's easy to make, and doesn't take a lot of your time. Plus, no egg used for those of you who don't like egg. hehehe
So, I thought, why not share this recipe. Who knows, you want to try something different for today's break fast. hehehe
Apple Crumble
You Need...
6 red apples (if it's a green apple you need to cook it after dicing it, either cook on a saucepan or use microwave =P)
250g white sugar (I used brown sugar instead..pandai2 je! =P)
200g white flour
150g butter
1 clove or cinnamon stick (I used the ground cinnamon, senang sikit, serbuk je. hehehe)
Cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
You Do...
Peel and core the apples first. Then roughly dice the apples to small chunks.
Mix those diced apples with the cinnamon, sugar. Mix until the apples feel a bit soft.
Put the apples into a serving dish which is oven proof.
Now, moving onto the crumble topping. Mix the white flour, butter and a bit of sugar together using your fingertips in a bowl.
(Do not melt the butter like I did LOL that was hilarious. I failed in my first attempt because I melted the butter!! XP)
Keep on mixing until the mixture takes on a breadcrumb consistency. You can feel like it's becoming like a breadcrumb gitu. =P
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Then, the crumble topping, you place it on top of the apples. No need to push the crumble down, just place it on top of the apples, making sure you cover the whole apples with the crumble topping.
Then, what? Then you bakar!! Burn baby burn! Okay, sorry I'm out of line. Bake approximately 15-20 minutes, or when you see the crumble topping turns golden brown, your apple crumble is cooked!
Now, you can serve the apple crumble with cream or vanilla ice cream if you like. =D
I referred to these two sites when I baked it last time - Myresipi and How To. And this is the one I made last time..
..before I put it in the oven. I totally forgot to take a picture of the cooked one. =P
So, I hope for those who are gonna try this, that you will like it. And all the best!
hehehehe
