People that I know usually equate Jamaica with Bob Marley and reggae. (this reminds me of Haha from Running Man if you watch Running Man. The guy is a big fan of reggae and Bob Marley LOL) Though things have changed now that we have Usain Bolt. Back to my story. Last night I watched this movie on Astro Disney XD channel, "Cool Runnings". I thought it was an entirely fictional movie, only to learn that it is based on true story. Gotta say I enjoy the movie, I remember laughing almost every few minutes man. The jokes and you know how the Jamaicans speak "Yaa maaan!" No offense I really think that their accent is cool.
All jokes aside, I could feel that the movie is trying to bring this message to all of us "Do not give up on your dreams-if they are not stupid". These guys were so determined to represent their country in Olympic games, they even went as far as doing the unthinkable at those time in their country - to take part in Winter Olympic. When I was watching the movie I thought Jamaica is the first tropical country to ever compete in Winter Olympic, turned out it was Philippines some time in 1972. But I guess back then in 1988 to see 4 black athletes, competing in bobsled event-that was not something you would think of back then I reckon. They did well that year but crashed out early, but the sportsmanship shown by the athletes in the movie was something all athletes should emulate.
Before I go to sleep tonight, I need to finish watching The 5 Year Engagement pulak. My favourite actor Jason Segel is in it so must be funny. LOL XP
Have a great night everyone! And a great day tomorrow! =)
