Lagu Raya

Everyone knows and well aware, once Ramadhan day one starts, the shopping mall, supermarket will be playing lagu-lagu raya. Most of us find this a bit annoying and disrespectful I guess because seems like people are not excited about Ramadhan, they are more excited about Hari Raya.

And almost every year, there will be new lagu-lagu raya by different singers, some are popular, some are not. Regardless of who singing those new songs, most of the songs don't come out as popular as the old lagu-lagu raya. Those songs, I tell you, are evergreen. Tak lekang dek panas, tak lapuk dek hujan.

I don't remember all the songs, but I sure find myself singing along sometimes when the songs are played on the radio. But I do have one or two songs that I personally like. =P Those songs are Cahaya Aidilfitri by Black Dog Bone, Balik Kampung by Sudirman and Gema Takbir by Raihan & Nowseeheart.

Black Dog Bone..what a name. And for such a band with that name to play lagu raya, I found it really weird the first time I learned that the song was by that band. The name is seriously and does sound crazy, brutal, rock kapak, but then they sang a quite melancholic lagu raya. LOL no offense to Black Dog Bone, the song is legend-wait for it- dary! Hehehehe.

Now that I think about it again, I don't know if Balik Kampung by Allahyarham Sudirman is a lagu raya. But heck, back when I was a kid, I saw this family listening to that song on their way back to their kampung for Hari Raya. So, I don't care if it's lagu raya or not, I'm gonna stick with what I said just now, it is lagu raya. =P

Gema Takbir by Raihan & Nowseeheart has been around in my playlist since my first year in Gippsland. I would sing out loud, along with the song. My housemates, I'm not sure if they heard me then, but heck, should have been alright, I bet they enjoyed listening to my voice LOL WTHeck! XP

I got few links to the songs I mentioned just now, so if you wanna have those songs playing on your PC, laptop or iPod, feel free to go to the links below. hehehehe

I don't know why I feel like talking about lagu raya. Heh. I am not that excited about raya, it's just the thought that I will get to celebrate raya for the first time in 3 years in Malaysia thrills me. hehehehe..

Still, selamat berpuasa dan beribadah to all Muslims out there. To all my readers, have a great day! =)

Reconnect: My Journey Back to Blogging

Hello, fellow travel enthusiasts and friends of Malaysian adventures! It's been an incredible journey, one that saw me take an unexpected hiatus from blogging for more than three years. Life happened (more like COVID happened) —responsibilities, changes, and personal growth—but one thing remained constant: my love for exploring the beauty and diversity of Malaysia. With power to put Dillan on my back, comes great responsibility! Today, I'm excited to announce my return to the world of  blogging. It's a bit like revisiting an old friend and reminiscing about unforgettable experiences. As I dust off my keyboard and sift through the memories of past travels, I can't wait to reconnect with all of you and share new adventures. Reflecting on the Past During my hiatus, I took the time to recharge, reflect, and embark on new journeys, both physically and emotionally. I've explored different aspects of life, including my passion for raising awareness about autism, delved de

Hang Tuah The Animation?

Woah, woah! Read this at beautifulnara about a three way agreements signed by Japanese anime studio Gonzo (Blood: The Last Vampire), Malaysian animation studio Funcel and Malaysia's National Film Development Corporation to produce Hang Tuah the animation! The protagonists....maybe? The antagonists...look so.. It sounds cool to me at first but I am being a bit skeptic about having non Malaysians to make an anime out of this legendary warriors, Hang Tuah and his friends. What more, I wonder are the voice actors gonna be Japanese too? I remember watching Silat Lagenda. That was awesome for our technology that time. But I think I shouldn't be all negative about Gonzo studio animating Hang Tuah because it's a collaboration....I think? Well, you guys can read more here and here . hehehehe
