When Animals Gone Wild

Actually I hate Hollywood. Sort of. =P For starter, they contributed to my ridiculous thoughts that drove me crazy when I was a kid. Why? I tell you why. I watched Jaws and Deep Blue Sea. Lake Placid, and Anaconda. Considering how scary those movies are for underage kids, I wonder myself how the heck did I get to watch the movies??

I don't remember much about Jaws. I think Jaws got a few sequels, I'm not sure. But I still remember Deep Blue Sea. There was a research on sharks' brain with hopes that a functional protein from the sharks can be developed to be cure for Alzheimer, any disease that is caused by brain dysfunction. (Wow, I actually remember that even though I watched it when I was in Standard 6!) But the research went wrong because they breached the protocol by enlarging the sharks' brains making them smarter. I remember one guy said, "They are swimming backwards! No sharks can do that!" Hahaha =P
But yeah, smart, stronger, faster sharks, in the water? I don't think you stand a chance to survive. I remember this one scene, Samuel L Jackson was motivating the survivors, and just right after he finished delivering his 'speech' NGAPPP, a shark just snatched him away. I was like WTFish!!!! Scary as!
Oh, and I remember watching few movies about crazy giant squids and octopus attacking a town by the coast, attacking all the big ships. But I don't really remember the title of the movies.

Reptiles.... not my favourite animals..The slimy, cold skin. Euww... When these two movies came out, I was like, ah, just great. Lake Placid, if you remember is about a crocodile or probably an alligator, which according to the website, is a horror comedy film. But I don't remember laughing at all! The whole time I was watching it, I was holding my breath for god's sake. Same with Anaconda. What's with the big size, and the extraordinary speed? Can a big ass snake move that fast?

I did watch a couple of other movies about giant Grizzly bear but it wasn't as scary and didn't leave much impact to me. I mean, what's the likelihood of me encountering a grizzly bear in the forest here? I'm more likely to come across a tiger. Another thing that made these movies so terrifying to me when I was a kid and scarred me for life =P is the fact that, all these animals, dwell in the water!!!

And I thought no more nonsense movies like these. But turns out, there will be one - Piranha 3D.

Of course, the piranhas in the movie are not the same as the amazon piranhas. Look how small it is. That's why they work in a group. Big one. And fear not people (me included) as I have read this article on Piranhas.

There are no piranhas in Lake Havasu
The film takes place in the fictional Lake Victoria, but was filmed in and around
Lake Havasu, a popular spot for spring break. According to a buzzy blog from the Los Angeles Times, some locals who rely on tourism are getting a bit nervous that tourists will steer clear of Lake Havasu. Some concerned tourists have asked whether or not there are really any piranhas in the lake. Fear not, travelers! You're far more likely to see tipsy boaters than flesh-eating fish.

They'll eat anything... or not
In the movie, the piranhas attack as though they were shoppers on Black Friday and their victims were deeply discounted TVs. In reality, according to the
Discovery Channel, piranhas are a bit more discerning. "Piranhas don't immediately attack their prey. Instead, they launch a series of small attacks to discover which fish is the weakest." While they are deadly and have razor-sharp teeth, theirreputations have been exaggerated over the years. HowStuffWorks writes, "Attacking a live animal isn't out of the question for piranhas, but it's not likely they could take down a healthy, full-grown human."

The origin of the legend
Fun fact: Piranhas earned their deadly reputation in part thanks to President Theodore Roosevelt. While traveling in Brazil many years ago,
the president wrote that he witnessed a group of piranhas attack a cow and strip all its meat down to the bone: "They are the most ferocious fish in the world. Even the most formidable fish, the sharks or the barracudas, usually attack things smaller than themselves. But the piranhas habitually attack things much larger than themselves." The legend was born.

Did you notice how the movie teaser is almost the same as Jaws'?

Even though I'm saying how I hate all these movies, but I know, in the end I will end up watching it, and will later have all these wild imaginations running at the back of my mind when I take a dip, in the swimming pool.... =___="

hehehehe

Want Some Hotdog?

WAHAHAHA!! I laughed when I first see this picture! I don't know whether to laugh at the spelling, or the prices set at that stall. Well, that's pretty mean of me. But it is a good laugh alright. The girlfriend sent me this picture. Before that she asked me, what's the spelling of hotdog in Malay. I said, not that I know of, just write 'hotdog'. Then she sent me the picture. The caption for this picture : "Don't know whose fault, the Malay teacher or the Math teacher?" Maybe it's just another marketing strategy. You know, when people ask, where did you get this? From hokdok stall over there. Brilliant plan on promoting it but fail miserably with the price. How to get profit like this LOL From the way it has been converted to Malay, I reckon the picture at the top was taken in Terengganu. You see, hot=hok. In Terengganu words that end with 't' always sound like 'k'. Example, sesat (lost) = sesak, pekat (thick) = pekak. But pekak (dea...

Koleksi Baju Raya =P

Few days ago, went to Kemaman to get new baju melayu for Hari Raya. hahaha..when it comes to this, I will just accept any baju as long as wearing it doesn't make me the centre of attention on that day. So, what do I have in my collection so far? =P Macam pengantin gitu. =P I don't remember this one. Hmmm My first Raya Aidilfitri away from home, 2007. In Melbourne with my friends from Melbourne Uni. How are you guys? Last year's culture night. Hehehehe. Ore to ore no imoto, Pam. But this purple baju melayu is not mine. My man Azman lent it to me. Thanks heaps man. =) But I guess I kinda like the pengantin one, though it did make me a bit 'famous' due to its glittering when exposed to light. I guess, I was once an Edward Cullen wahahahah! Ok, that's not funny. My bad. *ehem* ehem* The only complete family picture. With my Silat Cekak Hanafi gang at the end of 2006. What's up guys? =) So, this time around went to Kemaman, to this one shop at the basement level ...

Early Surprise

Last night, I was online surfing the net, blogging, chatting with some friends, and then the girlfriend came online on Skype. Woohoo~ Some excerpts from our early conversation Me: did u go see my blog Me: been active today wahwahaw Her: omg bii, we had super super big magical connection i tell you Her: but i cant tell u now. you'll know eventually Her: unless you can guess it. hahahahahaahaah I was like "what?" I kept on guessing and guessing and guessing but none of my guess was right! And the girl loves torturing me, seeing me all worked up trying to guess what did she mean by "super big magical connection". We always say how we have this magical connection in situations like - - picking up the phone when suddenly a message or a call comes in from her or me - went online on Skype at the same time Got other examples but I don't wanna kill the readers here with the cheesiness and mushiness... =P Anyway, she gave few clues, that I mentioned it in my blog post...
