Why not America? Well, since I'm a Malaysian who is in Malaysia at the moment, I think it would be good to say God Bless Malaysia instead of America.
Speaking of which, I think you guys must have heard and known about the 'Ground Zero Mosque'. But a few days ago, when I keyed in Obama, this search suggestion appeared -
There's "obama mosque ground zero", "obama muslim" and "obama games".
The idea of setting up a mosque few blocks away from the ground zero where 9/11 terrorist attack happened has been facing protests and oppositions from many parties. But there are others who back the project. Those who oppose the ground zero mosque cry that the victims of 9/11 are not being respected, families of those victimes will be hurt with the project. And those who support the project say this is America, people are free to practice their religious beliefs.
Anyway last week during iftar organised by The White House, Obama delivered a speech, supporting the project. I guess that sort of triggered the search for "obama muslim". Some Americans believe he's a Muslim now for the treatment he has given to the Muslims in US. Kinda funny really. The thought of the President of US, a country which is being controlled by the Israel, is a Muslim.
In a way, I guess we are blessed to be living in Malaysia, to be Malaysians. Though most of the time we hear news that make us go "AHHH~ there it goes again, the top dogs fighting against each other" I won't lose hope in the people of this country. Not everyone is a fool, especially us Malaysian youths. We can think for ourselves, which one is good, the truth, and which is the bad, the deceptions. Wahaha!! Tiba-tiba je serious! =P
Though we had one big natural disaster last time in 26 Dec 2004 and annual floods when monsoon season comes, we are still lucky enough to be able to live a decent living. Yeah, I know we are not as developed and rich as our neigbour down there, (and I don't wanna go to 'we're big and not as small as them' though I think that is one of the reasons for our slow developments) but if we really want to see this country changes, why don't we start from ourselves. Along the way we surely cross path with those who have the same dreams, and visions like us. I am really grateful that I don't have to be fasting in cold and wet condition, like the Muslims in Pakistan. The video below recorded the final moments of a house. With all the rain and flood, surely those houses up the hillside would collapse. It was taken in kpk Kalam, Pakistan.
After watching the video I thank god for blessing me with family, friends, and a home I call Malaysia.
Selamat Menyambut Bulan Kemerdekaan (dan Bulan Ramadhan untuk Muslim =D)
