Form 5 Students Died Yesterday In Kerteh

Wah, direct to the point the title this time. No secret words or unfinished sentence. And there's not gonna be any long introduction before I get to the story too this time. Let's go straight to the story shall we?

My mom told me about it this afternoon in the kitchen as I watched her frying the chicken to make ayam masak kicap. =P So, yesterday my mom's friend had a small kenduri, feast you may say, and her daughter (I assume) asked some of her friends to come over. And got some friends from Kemasik, form 5 students came to the kenduri too.

Ha, ada peta lagi. A-Kerteh, B-Kemasik. Mesra Mall is located somewhere before Kemasik, after Rantau  Petronas.

After some time, these 2 girls from Kemasik took their leaves and were on their way home, decided to go back to their place via Mesra Mall or they decided to take a detour to Mesra Mall. I don't remember. Anyways, they had to make a right turn at the intersection traffic light. When it turned green, these two girls who were on motocycle, made a right turn in.

BAMMM! A car from the opposite direction (from Kemasik) rammed into them. One of the girls died on the spot, and the other girl died on the way if I'm not wrong. So, what happened here? I thought the traffic light had turned green? So it did turn green. I'm pretty sure you've seen the traffic light that always blink, blink when it's about to turn yellow, and then red. Perhaps upon seeing the blinking green traffic light, the car driver didn't slow down, but accelerated some more, hoping to make it in time. Too bad, that selfish act of his had cost the two girls' lives.

Such a sad and tragic thing to happen to those young girls. The thing that makes me feel, this sense of despair, is that the car driver is a teacher. I'm not saying as a teacher he's not supposed to kill students on the road. He didn't know that was gonna happen. Maybe he did that a lot of time - Oh, lampu hijau dah kelip2, pecut!!. Let's be honest, how many of us have done that? "OMG! Yellow already, faster faster faster!" We might have been lucky all this time escaping from getting caught, or being in a road accident. SPM is just around the corner some more. My condolence to the girls' families. And Al-Fatihah.

I am sure, that most of us wear different masks on the road. We might be good fathers, moms, students, workers, the most approachable, funny, outgoing, and friendly guy in the workplace. But when we put on that masks on the road, we became totally inhumane, regard people's lives at the same par as bugs' lives.

Highway Patrol - one of my favourite tv shows back then.
Reminds me pretty much of this Australian reality police show (I don't remember which one), where cops catch civilians who commit crimes. Got this one episode, this one car drove past by the police patrol car, very fast that it almost got into an accident. The police managed to get the registration number of the car and tracked him down. Upon seeing him in person, he was surprisingly a good man who never had any criminal records. But his reckless driving makes him like an idiot. The policeman in that episode said

He sounds like a nice bloke, looks like one, but, sometimes people like this can get stupid on the road
So, think about it. What is it that you wanna prove on the road anyway. Your kancil is much faster than imported cars? Your modified car rules the road? You've been driving for 30 years so you are better than others?

Reconnect: My Journey Back to Blogging

Hello, fellow travel enthusiasts and friends of Malaysian adventures! It's been an incredible journey, one that saw me take an unexpected hiatus from blogging for more than three years. Life happened (more like COVID happened) —responsibilities, changes, and personal growth—but one thing remained constant: my love for exploring the beauty and diversity of Malaysia. With power to put Dillan on my back, comes great responsibility! Today, I'm excited to announce my return to the world of  blogging. It's a bit like revisiting an old friend and reminiscing about unforgettable experiences. As I dust off my keyboard and sift through the memories of past travels, I can't wait to reconnect with all of you and share new adventures. Reflecting on the Past During my hiatus, I took the time to recharge, reflect, and embark on new journeys, both physically and emotionally. I've explored different aspects of life, including my passion for raising awareness about autism, delved de

Hang Tuah The Animation?

Woah, woah! Read this at beautifulnara about a three way agreements signed by Japanese anime studio Gonzo (Blood: The Last Vampire), Malaysian animation studio Funcel and Malaysia's National Film Development Corporation to produce Hang Tuah the animation! The protagonists....maybe? The antagonists...look so.. It sounds cool to me at first but I am being a bit skeptic about having non Malaysians to make an anime out of this legendary warriors, Hang Tuah and his friends. What more, I wonder are the voice actors gonna be Japanese too? I remember watching Silat Lagenda. That was awesome for our technology that time. But I think I shouldn't be all negative about Gonzo studio animating Hang Tuah because it's a collaboration....I think? Well, you guys can read more here and here . hehehehe
