national day of mourning

Today is the national day of mourning.

From what Kak Jah told me yesterday, the fire at the back of the hill was really wild, and seemed to have its own will. She recalled seeing the fireballs moving from one side of the hill to the other side.

Normally, to go to Traralgon which is another town situated east of Churchill, it takes around 30 minutes. But those fire, reached Traralgon less than 20 minutes, 15 minutes...

My thoughts with Australia, especially the Victorians who lost almost everything

better

Oh I thank God...after the day of depression =P I spent the whole day at Uni after a few emails sent and received from Kingsley and Eric (all about badminton works..) I just sat at a booth set up by the Health, Wellbeing and Development Centre with Byron. I must say, it was much better being there than alone at home...unless well, I have my Xbox 360 with me =P

And that night, I played basketball with Zoon, and Zoon suddenly got interested in playing tennis. Lol though it was fun having to take turn throwing the tennis ball, my right arm hurt a bit.

But yesterday was much better. I mean, at least I managed to break the 'shy, timid' wall and got to know another pingpong companions, Fong from Singapore and Joyce from Malaysia.Poor Fong, always being bullied by Hitomi and Violet, the other new international girls. lol
And yeah, I also went to Kak Jah and Abang Akmal's house for lunch. There, I got to meet those 4 guys who transferred here from Monash Sunway. They are doing surprisingly well; already have a car, their house is furnished and now they all planning to go for a trip to Lake Entrance. So probably next Saturday I will be going as well. So this is the Churchill's Malay community first outing. XD

Hmmm...there is a trip to Melbourne today, but don't feel like going. Well it's for the new international students, though Kai said there are 5 seats left. See how...I got less than 20 minutes to decide XD

Duh =_=

Arghh!! I was feeling so depressed after I had done my work for badminton club. In the morning and afternoon, I was busy, and when I got back home, there was nobody..of course there was nobody, at the moment only got me and a new student from Singapore...and the rest haven't come yet..am waiting for them...

But after almost an hour of basketball, I felt great...then got back home, again, feeling depressed...damn it...

Last year wasn't like this. Eventhough I came early, there was SeMun. Zoon is here, but he's pretty busy doing some part time job as a tour guide for school kids who come to visit the Uni.

Anyways, I am waiting for you guys, Cacat, Dicky, Tommy,Calvin,Caryn to come back!! FASTER!!!! XD

i'm back!

Salam!
My first post in Australia 2009 =P

Been thinking about a lot of things. But as usual the Danial you guys know prefers to bottle things up. Maybe I will talk about it later.

Anyway, change of plan, going back to Churchill this Tuesday. Wanna do some halal meat shopping later in the morning. I know I am supposed to be sleeping right now, but I just don't feel like to.

Hmm, what awaits me this year in this land down under?

Produksi tempatan...

Baru sahaja menonton Anak Halal. Sangkaku cerita yang dipenuhi sampah sahaja...tapi jalan ceritanya menarik, begitu juga aksi aksi dalam adegan pergaduhan jalanan. Ceritanya ala ala Grand Theft Auto gitu..

I have never been a fan of local films. But the past few years have shown few good productions, the Upin & Ipin Animasi for example. I believe we don't really need special effects, in making good movies. Just look at the film "The Kite Runner"..I don't know why, but most of the films from middle east are good....hmm but I'm no expert. So don't just suddenly tembak me, or flame me, hehe just my two cents....

All over the world...*sigh*

From middle east to south east asia, from south east asia to down under....

I have been following news bout the bush fire since Semun informed me about it 2 weeks ago. Poor fella, but I bet now he's enjoying his time in Vietnam..hahhaha =)

As soon as I found out that the fire started somewhere in Boolarra, I was worried as I wondered what are the fate of the one family which I treat as my own in Boolarra, the Bricks...I was just hoping that they were fine.. still I sent an email to Samantha just to check them out. It was a relief to finally receive a reply two days ago.

Hi Danial

Thanks for your email and lovely to hear from you again.

Yes we are fine. The fires got to about 1 km away. Very scary.

So what are you doing this year?

Salaam

Samantha & family

Bushfire happens naturally in some forests in Australia comes summer. It is essential for this to happen as it is how the soil gets back the nutrients consumed by the trees in the forest, well, that is what I remember from my lesson in first year.

However this year bushfire has turned out to be "hell" as described by Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, and the authority in Victoria does not rule out the possibility that some of the fire that took place was an act of irresponsible human being. I could sense Kevin Rudd's bitterness and anger "What do you say? What do you say? ...."

I hope the people I know back in Gippsland are all safe, and my condolonce to those who lost their loved ones....

p/s: it was heartbreaking to see two elderly women broke in tears as they lost all their belongings and houses in the fire...after all the hard work..you see, owning a house in Australia costs a lot of money..well I don't know the correct term for the problem faced in paying mortgage there..so pardon my lack of vocab.....

Lompat si katak, lompat.... DUDE!!!

I shall have no say in whatever that is happening somewhere in the northern west of Kuala Lumpur, a place located between Kuala Lumpur and the rest of northern states of Malaysia......

democracy? democracy your ass!! seriously....i see no fairness in the media, all slamming the three states won by the Opposition party, why? Because they want to make the states' government look bad..I had never seen such thing happen before in those states before the general election last year....what the shell man???? Keep playing the racial card o' 'wise' one...

One word only...

DUDE!!!!!!!!!

edit: okay, that is so coward of me to do that...but if 'someone' finds out what i did, hmmm...image dekiru (can u imagine) what's gonna happen? oh i sure can.....

edit 2: hahaha..maybe i'm just being paranoid.. =P oh well..

Oh, almost forgot!

Setinggi tinggi tahniah buat Roslin Hashim yang melangsungkan perkahwinan semalam. =)

Buatlah yang terbaik di All England, bantulah Chong Wei sebanyak yang boleh ya? Hmm, buat kejutan ke, apa ke...heheheheh...

Minggu penuh makna?

I keep watching these two events which took place sometime last week... memorable ones..

1st
Erdogan vs Peres

I've been thinking, apart from praying for the unfortunates in Gaza and some other contributions, what else can I do? Well, when I watched in the news what happened in Davos, I was all smile, pleased.....

In your face!!!!!!!
'nuff said....

2nd
Federer vs Nadal

I have to say, I no longer hate Nadal since Wimbledon last year? I mean, he has proved himself a great champion to be when he beat Federer in the final on the grasscourt, Federer's favourite court. Well, I admit I was jealous of him, he is the same age as me, yet he achieves a lot in his life. =P

The match was last night was really a thrill to watch. Nadal's strength is his endless stamina, also the body strength he has been training for years. While Federer, I'd say his long years being a great player help him in executing some of the trickiest shots I've ever seen. Alas, him being older somehow might partly be the reason he couldn't compete with Nadal when it comes to stamina, energy. Nadal was just unstoppable last night. Well, there were many times I thought Nadal could have won, and then I changed my mind, Nope, maybe Federer can win, yada yada yada at the end I just gave up and decided to watch the match until the end. Congrats Nadal for the first title down under, and congrats Federer for giving all out. ;)

Both players are my favourites now. I will not forget them

They made it memorable..both of them

That's it people, woohoo!!!

Salam~
